What is a Rake?
As a roofing term a rake is the inclined edge of a sloped roof over a wall from the eave to the ridge, and usually perpendicular to the eave and ridge.
Rakes are not a common word that many homeowners will know of. Often if you hear a rake being discussed the roofing consultant will be either drawing it out, or pointing towards it on your home’s current roof.
Why it Matters
A supporting component that can be prone to aging, you want to ensure the rake is in good condition and not allowing elements to penetrate the home.
