What is a Pitch Change?
As a roofing term a pitch change refers to the variation in the degree of roof incline. This is expressed as the ratio of the rise to the span and measured in feet.
You may hear a roofer use several geometry-based words to describe this including variance, rise and ratio. These terms will typically be intuitive.
Why it Matters
Pitch changes can add complexity to a roof project. Few extra checkpoints we’ll want to confirm. First and foremost we want to confirm everything was historically installed properly and that the change in pitch isn’t a sign of trouble from past work to the house. This is something that your KTM consultant will be sure to account for and will examine closer during his review. Like other variables in a roof project, pitch changes are seen regularly and our master roofers will work to provide quality roof that is installed well, looks great, and is built to last.
